Current Owners of White Turpin House

Jess and Kendell Horton recently purchased The White Turpin House to operate as a vacation retreat for visitors. The townhouse belonged to Kendell's gggg-grandfather and she is excited to have it back in the family.

Jesse operates a 3rd generation family-owned business in Concordia Parish, La., and Kendell taught kindergarten for the past 11 years at a local Natchez school. She took a leave of absence this year to pursue her interest in family genealogy, which ultimately led to the purchase of The White Turpin House. Kendell is excited to embark on this new adventure and hope you enjoy the historical research she shares on this site and inside the White Turpin House.

Kendell's passion for genealogy research is shared by her father, Dr. William C. Coney, who is the ggg-grandson of White Turpin. Kendell and her parents are presently restoring the Turpin family cemetery where White Turpin is buried on the site of his "Oakland Plantation" home outside of Natchez.
